News for the Hospitality Executive
| WAIKIKI BEACH, Hawaii, December, 2010 – Pagoda Hotel, Honolulu’s landmark
hotel with its
one-of-a-kind design and unique appeal, is gearing up for a great 2011
of Aqua Hotels & Resorts’ Oahu portfolio of properties.
Effective December 20, 2010, new ownership and management of the 359-room hotel takes effect. Kai Management Services, LLC will operate the property and receive a range of support services from Aqua Hotels & Resorts.
According to new owner Peter Savio, at least $2 million will be spent on planned upgrades to the restaurant space, with another $4 million dedicated for future hotel refurbishment.
“Pagoda Hotel has been a part of the island lifestyle for decades,” said Bill Henderson, Aqua’s VP Development. “Many kamaaina families, including mine, have at one time or another enjoyed dining at the floating restaurant, been to a wedding reception or graduation in the ballroom or booked a few nights at the hotel for visiting relatives. It’s always been a place where friends and family felt at home and, with the support of their long-time employees, we are looking forward to bringing back that level of easy comfort and hospitality.”
Aqua’s sales and marketing team has been planning for their ‘new’ full-service property located in the heart of Honolulu. “The team has come up with suggestions for specials and promotions that will be appealing to a variety of market segments including kamaaina and groups,” remarked Elizabeth Churchill, Aqua’s VP Sales & Marketing. “Pagoda Hotel has plenty to offer consumers and we’re excited to be marketing this unique and iconic property.”
Located at 1525 Rycroft Street in Honolulu, Pagoda Hotel is conveniently located near Ala Moana Center, Ala Moana Beach Park, Sam’s Club, Ross’ Dress for Less, Walmart and Like Like Drive Inn.
Excellent for singles, couples and families, the hotel has a selection of spacious hotel rooms, studios and one- and two-bedroom kitchenette units.
Pagoda Floating Restaurant offers family dining; Sunday Bunch and dinner from Wednesday – Sunday. Private ‘tea houses’ are available for small gatherings.
Meeting and Banquet facilities:
Pagoda Hotel features two large function spaces that can be divided comfortably into smaller rooms. From a private reception of 40 to an extravagant party of 400, each space is fully carpeted and air-conditioned, with audio/visual equipment and high-speed Internet available upon request.
Two swimming pools, ample guest parking, Japanese-inspired water garden with cascading waterfalls and colorful koi including daily koi feedings.
The Pagoda hotel was mentioned several times during the December 6, 2010 episode of Hawaii Five-0 and one of the hotel units was also featured.
