spa director of Spa La Quinta at La
Quinta Resort & Club, overseeing all
programming, budgeting and operations for the resort’s
With extensive industry experience, as well as expertise in the wellness, fitness and nutrition arenas, Johnson takes charge of La Quinta Resort's award-winning spa, which features 38 treatment rooms – including facial and wet rooms, six outdoor private garden baths, four signature open-air Celestial Showers, men’s and women’s relaxation space with steam rooms and locker and grooming areas.
Johnson formerly operated Transformational Spa Concepts, a spa management and development consulting business, and has been involved with Spa La Quinta up to now as a hands-on consultant – conceptualizing a new spa menu inspired by indigenous elements, developing intensive new staff training procedures and overseeing spa upgrades. Her ability to take vision to form is evident, as Spa La Quinta recently received SpaFinder’s 2010 Readers Choice Awards in three categories.

Previously, Johnson was contracted by Sea Island Resorts to develop, launch and operate the acclaimed 65,000-square-foot Cloister Spa and Fitness Center in Sea Island, Ga., and was instrumental in attaining Forbes Five-Star status for the Cloister Spa. She also spearheaded and was charged with the development of the award-winning lifestyle programming, and the development, training and operations of the 40,000-square-foot spa, Lotus Salon and Retail, at The Lodge at Woodloch in Hawley, Pa. She was the director of spa services and fitness for Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort; and general manager of The Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center and Medical Practice in Patagonia, Ariz.
Additionally, she served as the program director for Miraval Resort & Spa’s renowned “Life in Balance Program,” overseeing the development of corporate programs, spa and 10 program departments including meditation, hiking, yoga, fitness, nutrition and the equine experience for the acclaimed all-inclusive destination retreat in Catalina, Ariz. She also oversaw the repositioning, design and grand opening of the 14,000-square-foot spa, fitness programming, salon and retail outlet at the Omni Tucson National Spa and Golf Resort.
As a leader in the spa community, the International Spa Association (ISPA) invited Johnson to contribute to the ISPA’s 20th anniversary video.
