Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas Completes $120 Million Transformation

DALLAS (November, 2010) – The iconic grandeur, magnificent architecture and priceless art experiences that define the legendary Hilton Anatole now reflect a captivating new brilliance.  Five years in the making, a stunning, $120 million transformation is now complete, elevating the hotel’s legendary status.

The AAA Four-Diamond property has completely transformed its 1,606 Asian-inspired guestrooms, common areas and 600,000 square feet of meeting and event space.  In addition, Hilton Anatole opened three new dining options, updated its high-speed Internet access and introduced an Executive Lounge on the 25th floor, offering concierge services along with panoramic views of the Dallas skyline.

“Since its opening in 1979, Hilton Anatole has enchanted guests with its historic grandeur, elegance and charm,” said Marc Messina, general manager of Hilton Anatole.  “This fresh look brings a new dimension of energy and a revitalized sense of wonder to the hotel, and an experience that today’s business, convention and leisure guests anticipate when they travel.  Hilton Anatole is setting a new standard for hospitality in Dallas and throughout the southwest.”

Reflecting the Stars It Surrounds

The centerpiece of Hilton Anatole’s new identity is found in the heart of the re-imagined Atrium II: a dramatic, one-of-a-kind kinetic sculpture called Nebula. Commissioned by Crow Holdings and created exclusively for the Hilton Anatole by world-renowned artist Reuben Margolin, the artwork is an immense, multi-tiered, geometric mechanism measuring more than 100 feet long and 50 feet wide, floating 50 feet above the crowd.  The 10,000-pound artwork is constructed of 10 miles of aircraft cable, 1,780 pulleys, and more than 4,500 amber crystals that float and reflect in a wavelike celestial dance.  Inspired by the great reflection nebula in the constellation Orion, Nebula heralds the Anatole’s brilliant rebirth and its own ability to reflect the light of the stars it surrounds – where inspiration and creative energies mix with the “light and warmth of hospitality”, creating the perfect wellspring for a genesis of new ideas and world-changing innovation.

EDG Interior Architecture + Design

(EDG) has re-imagined other elements of Atrium II, creating a park-like Asian garden that transforms the entryway and includes comfortable teak furnishings, a modern tea pavilion for public or private events, lush indoor landscaping and a 160-foot-long reflecting pool.  The materials are a mix of warm and cool elements, the perfect blend of dark wood, slate and stone juxtaposed with carefully chosen accents of red, amber and glass.  The new design pays homage to the hotel's priceless Asian art collection and to the atrium's history as one of Dallas's top entertaining spaces.

Meetings Redefined

The Anatole’s 600,000 square feet of meeting and event space also received a facelift.  A new conference registration area and separate meeting planner offices were added to the redesigned Atrium II.  Pre-function areas in the Tower, along with 17 breakout rooms and six major ballrooms, were renovated to include bold, sweeping designs – including new carpet, lighting, architectural appointments and modern touches on furniture and artwork.  The space also features updated audio/visual and IT capabilities – which signify more flexibility and increased productivity during meetings, conventions, business meetings, seminars, weddings and other social functions.

Additionally, the new design of Atrium II blends form and function, and in the process, elevates the art of hotel dining.  Compelling, sustainable food outlets are tucked off the main walkways, rather than at the center of the room.

The tech-savvy Media Grill + Bar – one of Hilton Anatole’s newest dining venues – is a fully interactive restaurant experience featuring customized visual, audio and lighting capabilities.  A refreshing twist on the contemporary American bistro, the 7,500-square-foot restaurant offers lunch and dinner seven days a week, along with late-night fare and a DJ and dancing.  In addition, Counter Offer Gourmet Market & Wine Gallery is a three-meal outlet that converts into a wine bar in the evening.  Crafted from stone, wood and metal to mesh with the surrounding Atrium II garden, the venue offers subtle transitions from breakfast to late night service.  With a total of four restaurants and five lounges, including the new Media Grill + Bar, Counter Offer, Gossip Bar, The Terrace and the award-winning Nana and Nana Bar, the Hilton Anatole serves up enticements at every turn and for every taste.

Hilton Anatole is located minutes away from downtown Dallas and within close proximity to the city’s shopping, dining, art, entertainment and sports districts.  For more information and reservations, visit www.hiltonanatolehotel.com or call (214)-761-7209.
