The Position

The Assistant Director of Sales will provide support to the operation of the hotel/sales department. Directly oversee Executive and/or Target Sales Managers and sales processes. Selectively sell group business in corporate and association markets in the interest of maximizing guest rooms and food and beverage revenue focusing on short-term large corporate accounts.

  • Achieve established production goals.
  • Directly oversee the sales managers handling the small groups market.
  • Solicit convention customers from the assigned association/corporate markets.
  • Develop new accounts through research and solicitation calls.
  • Develop and execute the annual Sales plan for the assigned market for direct reports.
  • Ensure accurate account information within Daylight Sales tracking system.
  • Plan and participate in Sales trips and industry related meetings.
  • Assist Director of Sales in public relations or promotional projects or any special projects as required.
  • Assist Director of Sales in implementing procedures set forth by the VP, Sales & Marketing.
  • Represent Director of Sales in his/her absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this position will come from a luxury Hotel/Resort/Convention Center environment.  Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, a related discipline, or equivalent required.   Minimum of three years of hospitality sales leadership experience preferred.  Experience in Association, Corporate, Group and Convention sales on both the regional and national level required. Key attributes include good communication and project management skills.
