Ted Kanatas Named General Manager for Hyatt Regency Chesapeake

Golf Resort, Spa and Marina on Maryland�s Eastern Shore
CAMBRIDGE, Md. � (September 23, 2010) - Ted Kanatas, a seasoned hospitality executive, has been named general manager for Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina, the premier four-diamond resort on Maryland�s Eastern Shore. Kanatas brings more than three decades of hotel management experience to the position. Kanatas joins the award-winning waterfront resort after managing the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, the largest waterfront hotel in southern California. Kanatas was the general manager of the 1,625-room hotel for six years. �Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay is a spectacular resort for its full-service amenities, and for its unique waterfront location on the Eastern Shore, one of the nation�s most well-preserved, indigenous areas,� said Kanatas, a native of Ohio. �I look forward to returning to the East Coast, working with the resort�s talented team and becoming a part of the local community.� Prior to his time at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, Kanatas served as general manager for Hyatt Regency Atlanta for nine years. Preceding Atlanta, he was general manager at Hyatt Regency Columbus (Ohio), Hyatt Regency Louisville (Kentucky) and Hyatt Regency City of Commerce (California). During his notable career, Kanatas has worked for nine Hyatt hotels and brings experience in a variety of operational capacities, including food and beverage. Kanatas is a past recipient of Hyatt Hotels� Donald N. Pritzker Award of Excellence for top General Manager of the Year. He received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Dayton.
