Richard McLennan Named Managing Director of
Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe, Vermont

Stowe, Vt. September 28, 2010 - Stowe Mountain Lodge and Destination Hotels & Resorts announce the appointment of Richard McLennan as Managing Director of Stowe Mountain Lodge. As a 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, McLennan has worked throughout the United States and abroad at some of the worlds most renowned properties.  McLennans extensive experience at ski and golf destinations will prove to be vastly beneficial at Stowe Mountain Lodge which boasts world-class skiing in the winter and golfing in the summer.  Stowe Mountain Lodge is the preeminent ski-in/ ski-out mountain lodge in the Northeast and is situated in the heart of Stowe Mountain Resort, the Ski Capital of the East.  Located at the base of Stowe Mountain Resort and in the midst of the bustling Spruce Peak village, this two-year-old luxury lodge is truly one of a kind on the east coast.

McLennan joins Stowe Mountain Lodge from another Destination Hotels & Resorts property, Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe, where he served as General Manager for three years.  At Resort at Squaw Creek, McLennan lead the stunning property to win numerous awards and accolades including Top 50 Ski Hotel by Conde Nast Traveler.  Prior to Resort at Squaw Creek, McLennan spent two years at The Island Hotel in Newport Beach, California which he successfully transitioned from a Four Seasons property to an independent hotel.  A graduate of Ecole Hotelier de Lausanne in Switzerland, McLennan has also served in management roles at the St. Regis Aspen in Colorado, Daufuskie Island Club and Resort in South Carolina, the Homestead in Virginia and Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in North Carolina.

I am thrilled to be a part of the future at Stowe Mountain Lodge.  With eminent growth on the horizon, Stowe Mountain Resort will continue to reaffirm its place as a year-round destination and the unrivaled best skiing in the east, said McLennan.  I have the utmost confidence in the team at Stowe Mountain Lodge, and I look forward to perpetuating the already formidable reputation the lodge has created for itself.

Stowe Mountain Lodge will tap McLennans consummate experience as the mountain lodge prepares for yet another grand opening this winter.  In December 2010, Stowe Mountain Lodge will nearly double in size with the opening of a second phase of luxuriously appointed guest accommodations.  The second phase will add an additional 173 guest rooms, bringing the lodge to a total capacity of 312 rooms.
