The Embassy Suites Houston Downtown Names Ron Gwin as
General Manager and Lisa Jones as Director of Sales and Marketing



 

HOUSTON, TX (July 6, 2010) . . . The Embassy Suites Houston Downtown, the first privately developed hotel to be built in Houston�s Central Business District since 1982, has named hospitality veteran Ron Gwin as General Manager and Lisa Jones as its Director of Sales and Marketing.

The 262-suite Embassy Suites Houston Downtown, overlooking Discovery Green Park and within walking distance of the George R. Brown Convention Center, is expected to be completed by March 2011. 

Among his many accomplishments during his 26-year career, Gwin served as Area Director of Sales and Marketing at the San Luis Resort in Galveston where he was responsible for the sales efforts of the San Luis Hotel, Hilton Galveston Island, Holiday Inn Galveston and the Galveston Island Convention Center.  Most recently, Gwin, a native Houstonian, served as General Manager of Louisiana�s Cypress Bend Golf Resort & Conference Center.

With more than 24 years of sales experience, Jones has spent most of her hospitality career at upscale and luxury Houston hotels including the Hilton Americas-Houston, the Westin Galleria & Oaks, and The St. Regis, Houston.  Most recently, Jones was Director of Sales at The Embassy Suites Conference Center & Spa in Frisco, Texas.  She also served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the historic Skirvin Hilton in Oklahoma City.

�Ron and Lisa both bring many years of experience to the table and their knowledge of the Houston market is significant,� says Nick Massad, president of Houston-based American Liberty Hospitality, the company that will operate the Embassy Suites Houston Downtown.  American Liberty also operates the Hilton Garden Inn Houston Energy Corridor; the Hilton Garden Inn Houston Galleria; Louisiana�s Cypress Bend Golf Resort & Conference Center; and other quality hotels throughout central and southeast Texas.

Upon completion, the new Embassy Suites Houston Downtown will feature 262, spacious, two-room suites with a separate living area, private bedroom and wet bar.  The property will include approximately 6,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, a rooftop swimming pool, spa and fitness center, a restaurant, a street-level café and wine bar, and two levels of underground parking.  Its guestrooms will be equipped with high-speed Internet access, two flat-panel televisions and two, dual-line phones among other amenities.  In addition, the hotel will offer a convenient complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast each morning and a complimentary Manager�s Reception each evening.
