Executive Team Set for Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport; The 372-room
Hotel Expected to Revolutionize the Way We See Airport Hotels

 
Beijing 6 July 2010 - Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport opens on August 16, 2010 with a bold new mission: 
to revolutionize the way we see airport hotels.

Featuring DJs in the lobby, loft-style apartments and a stimulating 24-hour high-tech environment for work and play, Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport will be the first airport hotel in the world to make downtown guests green with envy.

�We are not just creating a convenient stopover hotel but one of the most fun places to be in the capital of the world�s largest nation.� said General Manager Mark Francis. �We aim to make staying at the airport in Beijing an exciting thing to do!� A Canadian national, Mr Francis, is a seasoned hotelier with more than 25 years experience working in a number of renowned hotel chains in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong and The Bahamas. Mr Francis joined the Langham Group in 2004 as the Hotel Manager of The Langham, Melbourne in Australia. 
 

Opening Executive Team

Michael Munro � Director of Food & Beverage
Michael Munro, an Australian national, has over 20 years of food and beverage experience in hotels and independent establishments. From graduating from Ecole Les Roches Swiss Hotel Management School to running an Olympic venue in Sydney, he has been involved in numerous concepts; openings and refurbishments; from International hotels to independent establishments across various countries.

Stan Chau � Director of Finance
A seasoned hotelier and graduate of the University of London, Stan Chau, a Hong Kong national, brings with him more than 20 years of accounting experience working with major international hospitality groups in Hong Kong, Singapore and China, such as Star Cruises, Peninsula Hotels and Accor Hotels. Prior to joining Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport, he was the Financial Controller at The Dynasty Club Hong Kong managed by New World Hotels Group.

Helen Chen - Director of Human Resources
With a career in the hospitality industry spanning over 15 years, Helen Chen, a Chinese national, has worked with renowned international hotel chains, contributing to the successful openings of a number of their 5-star properties within China. Prior to her current position at Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport, Helen was the Assistant Director of Human Resources at the InterContinental Beijing Beichen. 

Bob Ren � Director of Rooms
Bob Ren, a Chinese national, brings over 17 years of hospitality experience and expertise on rooms management to Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport. Previously, Bob worked at length at various InterContinental and Accor hotels in China. His most recent position was Rooms Division Manager at the Sofitel Wanda Harbin for which he played an instrumental role in its successful opening. 

Simon McHendry � Director of Sales & Marketing
A British national, Simon McHendry has more than 14 years experience in hotel rooms operations and sales. Prior to taking on his new role at Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport, Simon served top Hilton hotels in London for 9 years and subsequently held management positions in both Front Office and Sales at Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong.

Cutting edge design, state-of-the-art technology and heaps of attitude are the hallmarks of this up-to-the-minute five-star lifestyle hotel that is situated right next to Beijing Capital International Airport�s iconic Sir Norman Foster-designed Terminal 3, just 10 minutes to the New China International Exhibition Centre and a mere 15-minute ride to the city on the Airport Express Railway.

The hotel also embraces the culture of Beijing with an art gallery showcasing unique contemporary Chinese artwork and a LIFE! boutique selling a selection of quirky and cool local designer and Langham Place branded gifts.
