Israel Tourism Reaches All-time High for June and First Six Months of 2010

New York - July 23, 2010: Israel tourism recorded two all-time highs this month with 1.6 million tourists arriving in the first half of 2010, a 39% increase compared to the same period last year, and 73,188 U.S. travelers arriving in June--the best month ever for U.S. travel to Israel. Also, a record-high 259,000 travelers from around the world arrived in Israel last month, setting a new record-high for the month of June. "We are thrilled tourism to Israel has continued to rise throughout 2010," says Arie Sommer, Israel Commissioner for Tourism, North and South America. "And we are delighted this past June was the best month ever for U.S. travel to Israel since the country was founded in 1948."
