Hotel Terra Jackson Hole, a LEED-Silver Certified Property,
Now Utilizes 100% Renewable Energy

July 14, 2010 (Wilson, Wyoming) – Hotel Terra Jackson Hole, the LEED Silver Certified property in Teton Village, announced that 100% of the electric and natural gas power used at the property is offset. Through a partnership with Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) of Portland, Oregon, this is one of Hotel Terra’s ongoing efforts to drive luxury hospitality into more sustainable practices. Through this joint venture, Terra’s Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) will offset the equivalent CO2 emissions of approximately 528 passenger vehicles per year, while its Carbon Offsets are the equivalent emissions a car would expel over 2,676,608 miles. By purchasing RECs and Offsets to account for 100% of its energy use, Hotel Terra is investing considerable funds in the growing clean energy industry, an effort that will reduce the use of polluting energy sources.

Hotel Terra is part of the Terra Resort Group, which is leading a new generation of green hoteliers seeking to minimize their guests’ carbon footprint while assuring distinctive and luxurious hospitality. Among many eco-friendly considerations at Hotel Terra Jackson Hole is use of 100 percent recycled “Eco Shake” roof shingles; 100% organic cotton sheets, towels and robes throughout; 100% organic mattresses; non toxic paints, sealants and adhesives to improve indoor air quality; and water-conservation systems that combine to reduce annual water use by 34 percent.
