Loews Hotels Appoints Debbie Castillo to
Vice President of Hotel Sales
New York, (July 19, 2010) – Loews Hotels announces the promotion of Debbie Castillo to the position of Vice President of Hotel Sales. In this new role, Castillo will oversee all Sales & Marketing and Revenue Management for Loews Hotels on the East Coast and Canada, continue leading the Loews Hotels International efforts and oversee the company’s sales training and development initiatives that support the hotels.
Castillo, who joined who joined Loews Hotels in 1999 as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Loews Miami Beach Hotel and was promoted to Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2004, has more than 24 years of industry experience. During her tenure with Loews Hotels, she has successfully “re-launched” Loews Miami Beach Hotel after a $50 million renovation, as well as developed the International sales efforts for the brand.
“Debbie has done a tremendous job for Loews Hotels throughout the years, guiding the marketing efforts of her regional hotels, as well as leading Loews Hotels International effort,” said Felicia Fisher, Senior Vice President Sales & Strategic Planning at Loews Hotels. “As Vice President of Hotel Sales her expertise will be a vital part of developing and executing our company’s sales and marketing initiatives.”
Prior to joining Loews Hotels, Castillo was Regional Director of Marketing with Sonesta Hotels & Resorts and before that, the Director of Sales and Marketing for Doral Ocean Beach Resort. She began her hotel career with Sheraton Hotels and moved to Miami in March 1988.
Castillo is active within the Miami/Miami Beach community, recently appointed to the prestigious Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority (VCA) as well as serves as the Chairperson of the Marketing and Tourism Committee and sits on the Executive Committee of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.
She graduated from Flagler College in St Augustine, Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Castillo was recognized as the Marketer of the Year in 2008 for Loews Hotels and has received numerous awards and accolades including Director of Marketing of The Year and Marketing Master from Sonesta Hotels, Marketer of the Year 2003 from Loews Hotels and under her leadership, Loews Miami Beach Hotel was named 2006 Sales Team of the Year for Loews Hotels.
