Charlestowne Hotels Makes History in Deal with Historic Inn

Eight Contracts in 2010 Results in Doubling of Company’s Size Over 18 Months as of June 30th
July 9, 2010 - CHARLESTON, SC – Rarely does one sign a deal at a property located at the home of a signer of the Declaration of Independence, but Charlestowne Hotels, Inc made some “history” of its own by inking a deal with the unique Inn at Middleton Place.  The deal marks the eighth new contract penned by the hotel management and marketing firm in the first half of 2010.  The Inn at Middleton Place is part of the 18th-century Middleton Place, where America's oldest landscaped gardens include the home of Arthur Middleton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

This latest addition is one of several unique inns, hotels, and resorts added to the firm’s portfolio over the eighteen months ending June 30th, 2010.  The properties added range from a 16 room urban, boutique inn, The Restoration on King in Charleston, SC, to the 500 plus condos at Sea Trail Golf Resort & Convention Center in Sunset Beach, NC.  The eight properties added in 2010 represent a year-to-date increase of over 75% in rooms under contract with the firm for management or marketing services.

In 2008, the company placed an emphasis on quality growth in the southeast and in 2009 seven new contracts and 411 new rooms were added to the portfolio, including two additional AAA Four Diamond inns and a property striving to be South Carolina’s first LEED certified green hotel.   As of July 1, an additional 888 rooms have been brought under contract in 2010, including two North Carolina golf resorts and the company’s first contracts in the states of Virginia and Florida. Charlestowne Hotels now works with a total of twenty six properties in five southeastern states and is recognized as one of the leading management companies in the country.
