Riu Hotels & Resorts Opening the  US$ 120 million 645-room Riu Panama Plaza;
First Hotel in New Product Line - RIU PLAZA

Riu Panama Plaza, first city hotel from RIU Hotels & Resorts, will debut next September 13th 2010 in Panama City. After 57 years of experience in resorts, the company will open its first hotel of the new product line, RIU PLAZA, which will offer special designed services for guests travelling on business or pleasure.

The luxurious 5-star hotel, located in the heart of the finance district of Panama City, is a 120 million USD hotel. The new hotel is a modern 35-storey building with 645 rooms and offers an ideal atmosphere for meetings, reunions and events. Guests will be able to use high-speed wireless Internet in all the areas including the rooms. 

The establishment offers excellent facilities for the business sector, with a fair balance between style, functionality and RIU´s acclaimed service. The hotel will dedicate 53.184 sq ft for meetings and events, spread over 21 conference rooms with capacity for 1,300 people. The sixth floor will feature a terrace of 19.3680 sq ft for cocktails and celebrations. 

The executive RIU Class lounge is a relaxing area, free for guests of the executive rooms and suites, and the customer cardholder RIU Class Gold and Diamond, where they can read newspapers and enjoy coffee, tea, soft drinks, wine and beer. 

The hotel will offer room service 24 hours a day, mini bar with complimentary initial content, sitting area with sofa and desk. The rooms are classified as Deluxe, Executive, Senior Suites (839.28 sq ft), Presidential Suites (1291.20 sq ft), and Penthouses (2776.08 sq ft and 3292.56 sq ft). It also has an outdoor pool with jacuzzi, gym, spa and wellness center, Turkish bath, hair and beauty salon. 

The hotel offers culinary choices distributed in the following restaurants: Arts and Prisma, where clients may have free breakfast, the a la carte restaurant Tastes, the Lobby Bar & Sushi Lounge Studio 50 and the Snack bar Ibiza Lounge, located in the pool area.
