 Ian Pullan Appointed General Manager of The Fairmont Waterfront,
Vancouver, British Columbia


 
 
Vancouver, BC, August 20, 2010 � With a hotel career that�s taken Ian Pullan around the world and back, he�s landed in Vancouver, British Columbia as the new General Manager of The Fairmont Waterfront. Crossing the water from his General Manager�s post at The Fairmont Orchid, Mr. Pullan leaves the sunny Big Island of Hawaii for the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver. He takes over the reins from retired General Manager, Francis Parkinson at one of four Fairmont properties located on the West Coast amidst the spectacular mountains and the sea.
 
With over 27 years of experience within the hospitality industry, Mr. Pullan brings a wealth of knowledge and new perspective to The Fairmont Waterfront. His past senior operations positions with several global brand hotel groups will serve him well as he takes the team at The Fairmont Waterfront forward with a commitment to the outstanding guest services that have become a cornerstone of this property.

Ian Pullan � Bio
 
A graduate from Galway Hotel Management School, with a Diploma in Hotel & Catering Management, Ian Pullan joined the Hotel Conrad Dublin as Assistant Front of the House Manager in 1990. In 1992, he transferred to St. Martin in the French West Indies as Front Office Manager with La Belle Creole (a Conrad Hotel).  Ian joined the Los Angeles Hilton & Towers as Director of Front Office Operations in 1994 and was appointed Director of Front Office Operations with Omni Los Angeles Hotel & Center (formerly Los Angeles Hilton) in 1995.  A year later, Ian was promoted to Director of Rooms at the property and returned to Dublin in 1998 as Deputy General Manager (Operations) with Jurys Hotel & Towers.  In 1999, Ian relocated to the sunny climes of Bermuda as Director of Operations at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess, where he held that position until 2002 when he was appointed to Hotel Manager for The Fairmont Royal York.  In 2003, Ian was promoted to General Manager, The Fairmont Kansas City at the Plaza and in 2005, he was appointed as the General Manager, The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii.
