Fifteen Hospitality Students Receive $1,000 Scholarships from the
Hotel & Lodging Association of Volusia County (Daytona Beach)

 
DAYTONA BEACH, FL - May 17, 2010 - The Hotel & Lodging Association of Volusia County under the leadership of Bob Davis CEO / President, handed out scholarships to more than a dozen students from area high schools and colleges this week at the Daytona Beach Resort and Conference Center. 

The high school winners, who each received $1,000 to help them pursue studies in the hospitality industry, were Jessica Walker, Mainland; Katie Kostidakis, Brianne Griffin and Gregory Pringle, all of Seabreeze; and Joshua Bubb, Spruce Creek. 

Five students from Daytona State College also each received $1,000 scholarships. They were Catherine Kemper, Erica Townsend, Joseph Britt Jr., Robert Morgan and Dominick Vila III. 

The association awarded $1,000 scholarships each to Bethune-Cookman University students Tawanna Harris, Phillip Martin, Kayla Abraham, Shanard McElveen and Damian Thompson. 

Bob Davis stated in his long career in hospitality this was one of his proudest moments to be able as an association to award this money for scholarships to bring a new generation of people to our industry.
