Marketing & Technology Group Acquires HOTELS Magazine

CHICAGO--May 17, 2010 - Integrated media publisher Marketing & Technology Group (MTG) today announced that it has acquired HOTELS magazine from Publisher Dan Hogan. The purchase includes all print, online and event assets, including sister publication HOTELS’ Investment Outlook,, and a suite of electronic newsletters. Terms were not disclosed.

Hogan recently purchased HOTELS from Reed Business Information as part of RBI’s divestiture from its U.S. trade media business. 

Effective immediately, Hogan and a core team of HOTELS veterans, including Editor-in-Chief Jeff Weinstein; U.S. Sales Managers Amy Vaxman and David Wood; and European Sales Representatives Brigitte and Caroline de Donnea, and Stephen Waddell, will join MTG to immediately begin work on producing a June issue of HOTELS and a relaunch of its Web site. 

HOTELS’ sister publication, HOTELS’ Investment Outlook, will resume publication in the fourth quarter of 2010, Hogan said. 

With this purchase, MTG expands its portfolio of award-winning food and hospitality brands, which include Meatingplace for the North American beef, pork and poultry industries; Plate for the U.S. foodservice industry; and CarneTec, for the Latin-American meat and poultry industries.
