News for the Hospitality Executive |
New York—April 27, 2010— For TTI Technologies, based here, business has been all but stagnant during the past 12 months despite the economy. The national provider of flexible Business Centers, ID/Passport Scanners, Concierge Services and more has seen a significant upsurge in growth, not only by way of hotel customers looking for their popular guest services, but in new product and service developments designed to meet the surge in solution demand. To better prepare for its expected expansion, TTI has secured industry veteran PJ Calihan as VP of National Sales. Calihan is responsible for driving sales throughout the U.S. with an emphasis on TTI's Business Centers and ID/Passport Scanners. "2010 is proving to be a positive and productive year for TTI, as numerous hotel companies and independents are beginning to enhance their guest service offering in preparation for recovery," said TTI President Steve Blidner. "Based on continued demand from our customers for adding more self-service business solutions, suggestions from city governments that hotels capture guest IDs at check-in (especially for cash-paying customers), and requests from business partners to interface to their integrated solutions, we decided the timing is right to broaden our sales department and expand our business development effort." Bridget Werba, TTI VP of Business Development, said Calihan is a face and name easily recognized in the market who brings with her a very strong customer portfolio. "With a 30-year career in hotel Human Resource Management, Operations and Sales and Marketing, PJ has developed long-lasting relationships with franchise chains that we have identified as ideal prospects for our services," Werba said. "Her contacts within the independent hotel portfolio are equally as impressive, as is her ability to remain actively involved in many hotel associations. She is a dynamic and driven professional and we are confident that her addition to the TTI family will be well received by our customers and business partners." Calihan has been associated with several franchise chains, and during her career has opened three hotels in a sales and marketing capacity. She is an active member of the California Hotel and Lodging Assn. and Meeting Professionals International, Northern California Chapter where she served on the Programs Committee as well as the Annual Education and Trade Show Day. She also served as Chair for the Oakland Chamber of Commerce’s Fiscal Review Committee and as a member of the Government Affairs Committee acting as Co-Chair for Sacramento’s Legislative Action Day. She is affiliated with the Oakland Airport Area Business Assn. and served three terms as President. Calihan attended California State University at Hayward and received a Certification in Human Resource Management from University of California Berkeley. "Having been in the hospitality industry for many years, I was quickly able to see the guest-service and revenue-generating benefits of TTI's diverse Business Center solutions," Calihan said. "It's truly an honor to work for a company that brings so much value to the industry -- especially through its ID Scanners, which will help owners to protect their assets, as well as their guests. Joining the TTI team is very exciting for me, and the management team is fabulous." Calihan said she will concentrate primarily on securing national management company business, especially those with larger portfolios and multi-brand flags. "I'm proud to say that I have a lot of solid relationships in the management company arena and also among the brands, and I can't wait to get on the road to showcase all that TTI has to offer," Calihan said. “I believe this move is going to be wildly successful for everyone." Calihan will be based in Oakland, Calif., and can be reached by calling (510) 334-4565 or via email at [email protected].
