Austin Hospitality Launches Non-Profit Entity - Hotels for Hope

Dedicated to Enriching the Lives of Children

Hotels for HopeAustin, TX — Apr 13, 2010 — Austin Hospitality is pleased to announce the launch of its nonprofit counterpart, Hotels for Hope. This social enterprise looks to embody its mission of enriching the lives of children through the simple act of booking hotel rooms.

Neil Goldman founded Austin Hospitality, a hotel referral and management service that provides guests with substantial discounts on group hotel accommodations. To date, the company has aided over 1,200 groups and secured 25,000 room nights. With the launch of Hotels for Hope, this locally grown company is excited to parlay its undeniable successes with its philanthropic goals.

The decision of building a nonprofit component within Austin Hospitality did not come lightly. For Goldman, lending his time and resources to those in need has been a lifelong commitment. Austin Hospitality was established on a core ideal that it would serve more than just its clients. Before Hotels for Hope became a reality, the company showed a keen interest in philanthropic endeavors. The team has managed and volunteered at the past four Special Olympics Texas State Games.

The concept for this innovative nonprofit? Each of Austin Hospitality’s contracted hotels is asked to include a $1 charitable contribution, which Austin Hospitality then matches, dollar for dollar. In short, each room night generates $2 for Hotels for Hope. Hotels for Hope currently benefits Special Olympics Texas, A Glimmer of Hope, LIVESTRONG and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (T*A*P*S). In a two week “soft opening,” Austin Hospitality secured nearly 3,000 room nights, generating $6,000 for their charities.

“Helping others less fortunate has been a principle I’ve held onto since childhood,” comments Goldman. “Hotels for Hope is a direct result of this lifetime goal. Our whole team knows that we are impacting our clients, hotels and our charities and making a global difference.”

Within the first three years of operation, Hotels for Hope aims to generate over $500,000 dollars for their partner charities. Future endeavors and relationships with hotels will lead to further campaigns and programs designed to generate additional funds for the charity.
