TPG Hospitality Brands its Tudor Hotel in Midtown Manhattan
The Hilton Manhattan East

NEW YORK and MCLEAN, Va. -April 1, 2010 - Hilton Hotels today announced the opening of Hilton Manhattan East, located on the corner of 42nd Street and 2nd Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, in the historic building formerly known as Tudor Hotel New York. The newly renovated boutique hotel joins Hilton Times Square, Hilton New York and Millennium Hilton as the brand's fourth property in Manhattan.

This 300-room neighborhood gem unveils a new look today with the completion of a multi-million dollar renovation to its lobby and bar areas, which complement the guestroom transformation finished in 2009. Hilton Manhattan East features contemporary accommodations and modern amenities in a 1931 historic neo-gothic tower. In 2007, the National Trust for Historic Preservation deemed the hotel a Historic Hotel of America.

"We are delighted to add this historic property to our collection of more than 530 hotels, which now includes four locations in Manhattan," said Dave Horton, Global Head, Hilton Hotels brand. "As an intimate retreat in the heart of Midtown, this boutique hotel is a great option for both leisure and business travelers to New York."

Hilton Manhattan East is centrally located on East 42nd Street only steps from the United Nations headquarters, Grand Central Station and the Chrysler Building, and is a short distance to Times Square, Fortune 500 companies and New York's finest shopping, dining and sightseeing venues. Guests at Hilton Manhattan East enjoy an ideal location along with the charming neighborhood atmosphere of Tudor City, a historic district.

"New York City is a destination for travelers from around the world and we are delighted to be able to offer a new hotel option in the city that bears the trusted Hilton name," said Louis Llach, Area General Manager for TPG Hospitality, owner and operator of Hilton Manhattan East. "Hilton's world-class standards for service, products and amenities are an ideal complement to our property and enable us to elevate our guest experience."

The hotel's 300 guest rooms are stylishly appointed with custom furnishings in shades of blue and earth tones. Each room includes a 42-inch LCD flat-screen TV, in-room movies, a dual-line telephone, wireless high-speed Internet access, a spacious marble bathroom and generous closets.

The hotel also offers a state-of-the-art fitness center, 24-hour business center, full-service concierge and valet. The Tudor Neighborhood Bar & Grill features an eclectic menu of continental American and international specialties for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
