HITEC Adds Two New Microsoft IT Training Sessions
Partnering with Datanamics

Austin, Texas (April 27, 2010) — Adding even more value to its education program, the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC) is including two new Microsoft training sessions to its Monday, June 21 schedule. Partnering with Datanamics, which specializes in IT training, HITEC will now offer “How to Save, Integrate and Grow with Technology” and “Understanding Technology Certifications.” The conference, produced by Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®), is June 21–24, 2010 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

“Specialized skills are innate to the role of an IT professional,” said Frank I. Wolfe, CAE, CEO of HFTP. “Adding these expert courses brings another dimension to the HITEC program as they help attendees grow professionally along with the industry.”

The newly-added sessions include:

Education: How to Save, Integrate and Grow with Technology

Monday, June 21; 10:15 – 11:45 a.m.

In the new economic environment, organizations are always looking for productivity tools to help them save money, improve efficiency and increase competitiveness through innovation. This session discusses ways to use technology in the 21st century to reduce costs, increase efficiency, innovate and drive growth, and connect and empower people. In addition, some of Microsoft’s latest advancements in technology will be reviewed such as SharePoint 2010 and Office 2010.

Understanding Technology Certifications

Monday, June 21; 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Certified professionals stand out from other IT specialists.  When someone is certified, they can be assured they possess all the required skills to perform the necessary tasks. But IT certifications can be confusing. This course explores and demystifies Microsoft, Cisco and CompTIA certifications. This session will explain the value of certification, preparation and testing.  In addition, it will cover how to maximize the investment in training and certification at little or no additional cost.

HITEC 2010 offers attendees a one-stop shop for essential education, access to experts and hospitality technology vendors, networking with top leaders in the industry and the resources to find cost-effective ways to improve company bottom lines. This year's exhibit hall also features the newest version of GUESTROOM 20X, a special exhibit showcasing the most innovative technologies for the guestroom.

Attendee registration and the Housing Bureau are now available online. Visit the web site for complete information about all conference and exhibition events, including the conference schedule, a list of exhibitors, a map of the exhibit hall and the most current HITEC news.
