Bellstar Hotels and Resorts Appoints Ralf Strub
as Vice President of Operations
Calgary, Alberta: March 23, 2010 - Bellstar Hotels and Resorts, Western Canada’s leading resort development and management company, has appointed Ralf Strub as Vice President of Operations. Bringing over 28 years of international and Canadian hospitality industry experience to the Executive Team, the addition of Strub is one more step towards achieving Bellstar’s long term structured strategy for growth throughout North America.
“In the past few years, Bellstar has doubled the number of units in our rental management program and added five more resorts to our portfolio,” stated Bellstar President and CEO, Ed Romanowski. “The diverse and highly qualified skill set Ralf brings to the Bellstar team will build stronger systems and better controls to deliver exceptional resort experiences and continue our structured growth for the coming years as we continue to pursue new resort management and development opportunities throughout North America.”
Strub was born and raised in Switzerland, where he started his hospitality career. His early career history included management roles in food and beverage, sales and marketing and turn-arounds of hotels and resorts in Switzerland, Canada, Republic of Maldives, Austria, South Korea, Italy, Germany and Russia.
Immigrating to Canada in 2004, Strub joined Prime Restaurants of Canada, implementing and executing the restructuring of the corporate division of restaurants as well as the re-positioning of the concepts. Promoted to Vice President of Western Canada in 2008, he relocated to Vancouver, where he took on the responsibility for the overall performance and development of the East Side Mario’s brand.
Strub holds the highest award of quality management in the Swiss Tourism industry ‘2Q’; is a Swiss-trained Chef; and his education includes a Master of Hospitality Management of S.H.V., from the Swiss Hotel Association, in Bern, Switzerland.
Ralf becomes a key member of the Bellstar Executive Management Team led by Ed Romanowski, President and CEO, along with Jon Zwickel, Chief Growth Officer, and Patti Smith, Chief Financial Officer.
