Key Hotels Group s.r.o. and Hilton Worldwide to Open
First Doubletree by Hilton in Norway

.

March 11, 2010 - OSLO -Hilton Worldwide has announced that it has signed a multi-year franchise license agreement with Key Hotels Group s.r.o. to open the Doubletree by Hilton, Oslo-City Centre this spring -- the company’s first hotel in Norway and the Doubletree by Hilton’s first location in Scandinavia. This latest announcement reinforces the continued growth of Hilton Worldwide and the further development success of the upscale, full-service Doubletree by Hilton brand throughout Europe.

The Doubletree by Hilton, Oslo-City Centre is ideally located in the heart of the Oslo city centre on the historic Stortingsgata, next to the city’s famed Christiania Teater. Situated in a listed building with warm stone façade and original arched doorways, the final touches on this adaptive re-use construction project from office building to upscale hotel is being completed in accordance with local heritage guidelines. The Doubletree by Hilton, Oslo-City Centre is within walking distance of the city’s business and financial districts and surrounded by historical buildings such as the Royal Palace, the National Theatre, the Town Hall and Parliament. Hilton Worldwide currently operates seven hotels across the Nordic region.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president development, Europe & Africa, said: “The grandparents and ancestral family of Conrad Hilton, founder of the 91-year-old Hilton Worldwide legacy, originated from Norway. We are delighted to open our first Hilton Worldwide hotel in the country with the introduction of our Doubletree by Hilton brand into Scandinavia. As we grow our portfolio of brands in Europe, we are committed to developing our presence in capital city locations. This landmark Hilton Worldwide announcement is a testament to the heritage and growth of our company.”

The first phase of Doubletree by Hilton, Oslo-City Centre will open with 59 gracefully designed single, double and deluxe bedrooms; a full-service restaurant with views of the city’s tree-lined promenade, Spikersuppa; and an intimate lobby bar. When the entire, multi-phase refurbishment project is completed at the end of 2010, the hotel will feature 103 bedrooms, along with a state-of-the-art fitness facility and business centre. The new Doubletree by Hilton, Oslo-City Centre will also have convenient access to the airport express train, which connects downtown Oslo to Gardermoen airport.

Rob Palleschi, global head for Doubletree by Hilton hotels, said: “Having opened our first Doubletree by Hilton in Europe only two years ago, the introduction of our first Scandinavian hotel in the capital city of Oslo demonstrates the unique appeal of our brand to current hotel owners and prospective hotel developers. With a collection of 10 hotels open in Europe, 220 hotels and resorts welcoming guests across the globe, and a growing development pipeline adding new locations every month, there are more opportunities than ever before for today’s traveler to experience Doubletree by Hilton and its distinctive delivery of warm and caring hospitality.”

Some characteristic qualities of the Doubletree by Hilton experience include the warm worldwide welcome of the brand’s legendary chocolate chip cookie to every guest at check-in, the rewards of the prestigious Hilton HHonors loyalty program and a unique and caring commitment to the communities in which they operate. Doubletree by Hilton believes in a set of business values that make their hotels a desirable place for employees to work and a satisfying place for travelers to stay. Doubletree by Hilton hotels also participate in Hilton HHonors®, the only guest rewards program that allows members to earn Points & Miles® for the same stay and redeem points for free nights with No Blackout Dates at more than 3,500 hotels worldwide.

There are 18 Doubletree by Hilton hotels now open or in the pipeline in Europe and more than 200 hotels welcoming guests around the world. In the Nordic region, Hilton Worldwide currently operates: Hilton Copenhagen Airport, Hilton Stockholm Slussen, Hilton Malmö City, Hilton Helsinki Vantaa Airport, Hilton Helsinki Strand, Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa and Hilton Reykjavik Nordica.
