Thomas Legner Appointed Hotel Manager
for Four Seasons Hotel, Washington, D.C.

Washington, DC (January 25, 2010) - Christian Clerc, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC is proud to announce the appointment of Thomas Legner as Hotel Manager. From cruise lines and airlines to hotels and resorts, Legner has over 20 years of expertise in the travel industry.

“Thomas brings a global perspective and a depth and breadth of hospitality experience to the team,” said Christian Clerc. “His operational efficiency, keen attention to detail and superior guest service will serve the Hotel well in maintaining its legendary accolades as the city’s only hotel to be granted both the Forbes five-star and the AAA five-diamond awards.”

Prior to joining Four Seasons Hotel Washington, Legner was the Resort Manager at Four Seasons Resort Nevis for two years. He was also Hotel Manager at the flagship Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, where he held his post since 2003.  Thomas Legner first joined Four Seasons in 2002 and served in various corporate roles at the company’s Toronto-based home office.  He was
Director of Hotel Relations Management and a Project and Design Manager for the much-anticipated opening of the hotel company’s first ski resort in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

A native of Austria and fluent in German and English, Legner also worked for eight years with Silversea Cruises where he began as Chief Purser for the start up of Silver Cloud and Silver Wind Cruise ships.  He progressed through the ranks to Food & Beverage Manager and eventually Hotel Manager. Yes, even on a cruise ship there is a Hotel Manager. The launch of these two ships under the Silversea brand garnered attention in Condé Nast Traveler’s Reader’s Choice Awards as the “Top Destination in the World” in
1996, and again in 1998.  Formerly, Legner spent three years with Cunard Cruise Lines in various management positions.

In his leisure time, he enjoys history, sports including soccer, reading and family time.  Legner, along with his wife Melisssa, daughter Sophia and son Benjamin are delighted to call Washington, DC their new home.

Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC, Washington's first and only Mobil Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond hotel, has justly earned its reputation as one of the city’s – indeed one of the world’s –finest hotels.  With a preferred Pennsylvania Avenue address, the 222-room hotel is situated in historic Georgetown.  Its restful ambiance is enhanced with not only a warm, friendly and tenured staff but also its extraordinary 2,000 piece art collection.  The hotel completed a $40 million enhancement in 2009 and it is better than ever!  An exciting addition is a new signature restaurant, “BOURBON STEAK”, by celebrated Chef Michael Mina, a two-time James Beard award winning chef.  The restaurant is designed by world-renowned architect David Rockwell. The Lobby has been redesigned by Pierre-Yves Rochon and intended to celebrate the intimacy of residential warmth, views of a winter garden and the hotel’s celebrated art. The West Wing was renovated and received ten new rooms and suites as well as a 4,000 sq. ft. Royal Suite
(the Hotel’s largest and most lavish) that will redefine comfort and style in the nation’s capital; designed by Pam Anderson from Anderson Miller Ltd. All of this accompanies the hotels $25 million renovation of the East Wing completed in 2005.
