SANTA
MONICA, California (February 11, 2010) - Convention center
hotels in
Denver are set to gain new competition when a new 403-room Embassy
Suites hotel
opens directly across from the Denver, CO, Convention Center in
December 2010. Windsor
Management Services, the hotel management
arm of Windsor
Capital Group headquartered in Santa Monica, CA, has reached an
agreement with developer,
White/Peterman Properties, Inc. in Merrillville,
IN, to manage the new Denver hotel.
The new Embassy Suites
hotel development, constructed by WPM Construction,
boasts 403 rooms and 17 function rooms, totaling 21,000 square feet of
meeting and banquet space, and features unique design elements such as
a 13-story glass curtain “Sky Lobby/Atrium” starting on the hotel’s
fourth
floor. The hotel’s amenities include plans for an additional leased
restaurant,
retail space, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, spa, indoor pool,
business
center and full valet service/onsite parking. The hotel is
planned
to be a LEED-certified building.
“We are very excited to have the Embassy Suites flag flying in Downtown
Denver again!” said Rachel Benedick, Vice President of Sales &
Services
for Visit Denver, the city’s convention & visitors bureau. “This
hotel
is in a prime location and our convention groups will be very excited
about
this addition to our skyline.” The hotel's downtown Denver, CO,

“When Hilton took the previous Embassy Suites out of the
system in downtown
Denver, the upper-upscale Hilton brands were underrepresented, creating
a ‘perfect storm’ for a new Embassy Suites hotel to drive an index
premium
against its competitive set in the upper-upscale segment,” said Rich
Parks,
Vice President of WPM Construction, builder of the project. “We chose
Windsor
Management Services because we had a lot in common with them and feel
they
are the group that will bring the results we want to the bottom line.”
Hilton’s Embassy Suites hotel brand defines the
upper-upscale, all-suite
segment with spacious two-room suites, complimentary cooked-to-order
breakfasts
and an evening Manager’s Reception.
“We are delighted to have been chosen to manage this
exciting new hotel,
the eighteenth Embassy Suites property in our portfolio,” said Bill
Upshaw,
President and COO of Windsor Capital Group. “We trust that our
company’s
extensive experience in managing the Embassy Suites brand, along with
our
experience in the Denver market, will provide a tremendous advantage in
opening and operating this first-class asset. We are equally excited
about
our strategic alliance with White Peterman Properties and the
similarity
of our approach and style,” added Upshaw.
