Thierry Kennel Appointed General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel
and Private Residences, Denver

Will Prepare Hotel for Fall 2010 Opening

(DENVER) – February 1, 2010 – Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Denver announced today the appointment of General Manager, Thierry Kennel, an experienced Four Seasons hotelier with an extensive 23-year background, successfully managing several of the company’s properties across the globe.

“I’ve managed properties from the Maldives to the Midwest and am excited to take on this new challenge and be part of the team, introducing the Four Seasons highly-personalised service to Denver,” says Kennel.  “The city’s urban vibrancy mixed with a relaxed Rocky Mountain atmosphere makes it both an attractive destination for business and leisure travellers, and an enticing place to call home.”

Most recently, the French-born hotelier called “The Gateway City” home serving as the General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, where he spearheaded the Hotel’s emergence as the premier, high-end accommodations offering within the city.  Prior to that appointment, Mr. Kennel enjoyed tenure at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto; Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver; Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa; Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies; Four Seasons Hotel Boston; and Four Seasons Hotel Houston.  He holds a degree in Hotel Management from the Ecole Les Roches in Crans Montana, Switzerland.

With a breadth of Four Seasons experience both domestically and abroad, Mr. Kennel has developed a keen sense for meeting and exceeding guest expectations. “The secret is to provide the unexpected, consistently,” he says. “Send the guest who mentioned she had an aching neck a hot compress at turndown or share a sample of the local micro-brew beer with the patron who calls himself a connoisseur. Go beyond what a guest requires and deliver desires— specialty pillows, rare scotch— day or night and you will not only make a lasting impression, but you will make them feel at home.”

Located amidst Denver’s finest arts, shopping, dining and sports, the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences will take the booming Lower Downtown Denver neighbourhood of “LoDo” to a level of urban style the city has yet to experience.  Comprised of a 45-storey tower containing 239 guest rooms, including 21 suites, the Hotel will be a marvel of contemporary architecture and design; a sleek tower with commanding views of the surrounding city and Rocky Mountains in the distance.  An outdoor lushly landscaped pool-deck and a 8,500 ft2, 10-treatment room spa will offer an oasis to escape from the bustle below. Epicurean travellers and locals can take refuge in the hottest cocktails and bites at the lobby-level lounge, The Bar, or indulge in a full meal at the all-day restaurant, sure to be a popular meeting spot for guests and Denverites alike.

Kennel and his team will also service the 102 private residences nestled atop the Hotel.  Mirroring the high-quality accommodations provided below, each residence was designed and crafted by an all-star cast, including Clausen-Chewning Interior Design, a firm that specializes in luxury resort properties and important city hotels that span the globe. With a classic and contemporary design scheme, each features luxurious finishes and granite countertop kitchens, adorned with Sub-Zero, Miele, and Wolf appliances. The spacious balconies (nearly 400 sq. ft. each on average) are perfect for admiring the panoramic Rocky Mountain view or the Denver cityscape. Each residence also features comforting touches such as fireplaces and bathrooms with deep soaking tubs and provides access to the signature services and amenities of the Hotel including use of the urban spa, fitness centre, pool deck, executive meeting rooms, restaurant and lounge and more.
