Loews Hotels Appoints Robert L. Nee and Mark Lindsey to Director of Marketing
Positions at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel and Loews Ventana Canyon
in Tucson, Respectively

LOS ANGELES – February 24, 2010 - Loews Hotels announces the appointment of Robert (Bob) L. Nee as director of marketing for Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel in Santa Monica and Mark Lindsey as director of sales and marketing for Loews Ventana Canyon in Tucson, Ariz.

Nee brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience at some of the country’s finest hotels and resorts to Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for superlative leadership and proven capabilities in revenue management, group business assessment and market positioning. In his new role, Nee will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s sales and marketing efforts. 

Most recently, Nee served as director of sales and marketing at Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles where he was instrumental in achieving year-over-year RevPAR growth. Under his direction, the hotel’s sales team was awarded the 2008 Starwood Hotel Franchise Sales Team of the Year.  Prior to that, Nee served as director of sales and marketing at Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center in Detroit, and as area director of sales and marketing for Marriott Hotels’ Chicago Southwest region.

Mark Lindsey, Director of Sales and Marketing, Loews Vantana Canyon
Lindsey brings 20 years of experience in hotel sales and marketing, with an expertise in desert locations. Previous appointments include director of sales and marketing at Westin La Paloma in Tucson where he increased room revenue by $3 million and grew food and beverage revenue by 64 percent. He spearheaded Web 2.0 efforts for the hotel, as well as a special training program for sales and catering managers. That hotel was ranked the #1 Westin in North America for Meeting Planner Satisfaction the entire six years he was at the helm. 

He has also served as director of dales and marketing at Hilton Hotels and Resorts in Scottsdale, Ariz., senior sales manager at Hyatt Regency Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch and convention sales manager for the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau.
