Appoints Hyatt Veteran Diego Concha as General Manager

WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao – October 14, 2009 – Diego Concha has been named general manager of Hyatt Regency Curaçao Golf Resort, Spa and Marina. Concha oversees the entire operation of the 350-room resort, provides professional leadership to a team of motivated employees and adds his noted personal touch to guest relations. Set along 1,500 acres of the Santa Barbara Plantation, a multi-faceted luxury resort community, the Hyatt Regency Curaçao, which will open mid-January 2010, is the centerpiece of the grand master development designed for vacationing and year-round living.

Diego Concha joins Hyatt Regency Curaçao with a career that spans more than two decades with the Hyatt resort family. A native of Colombia, Concha’s two decade career with Hyatt started in 1988 as the assistant food and beverage director at the former Hyatt Regency Cerromar Resort & Spa. During his successful career with Hyatt, Diego has taken the opportunity to sharpen his skills in various hospitality positions having served as food and beverage director, director of operations and most recently, hotel manager at Hyatt Regency Trinidad.

“He has consistently shown a pattern of innovation, development, and excellence in delivering the highest quality guest service experience. His philosophy is reflected in his ability to combine creativity with a strong service discipline that understands and provides for individualized guest care,” continued Cabrera.

Scheduled to open in January 2010, the 350-room Hyatt Regency Curaçao Golf Resort, Spa and Marina is located at Santa Barbara Plantation, a 1,500-acre luxury resort community taking shape along a natural harbor known as Spanish Water, 25 minutes from Curaçao's capital city of Willemstad. The full-service luxury hotel will feature uninterrupted water views on three sides, white sand beaches, a 4,500 square foot Hyatt Pure spa, separate 24-hour Hyatt Stay Fit fitness center, Camp Hyatt, multiple outdoor pools, poolside grill, lounge, dive and water sport facility, an 18-hole Pete Dye designed championship golf course and 18,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.
