Premier Meetings Magazine Launches the Smart Mart
New networking format connects planners and hoteliers
Sausalito, Calif. (November 20, 2009) — Smart Meetings magazine, the premier publication in the meetings industry, has once again redefined the concept of live events with the launch of The Smart Mart this week. Held at the Four Seasons San Francisco, The Smart Mart gathered 30 pre-qualified meeting planners and 30 hotel partners for an exclusive opportunity to network and meet one-on-one in a relaxed, but business-like atmosphere.
The event was the first in a series of one-day private programs to be held at top-tier destinations throughout the West. It joins the success of The Smart Meeting, the magazine’s signature three-day program that also connects meeting planners and hoteliers in small group settings.
According to Marin Bright, founder and publisher of Smart Meetings, these live events offer a more targeted approach than traditional buyer-supplier formats, which are languishing in today’s economic environment. “Attendees need immediate value for their time, and our events are specifically designed to provide information, build relationships and deliver results.”
Based on the positive response to both The Smart Mart and the 2009 Smart Meetings, the magazine is expanding its event offerings in 2010. The Smart Mart will be held on February 4 at the Montage Beverly Hills; May 6 at the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle; August 6 at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa in Anaheim; and November 18 at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas.
Additionally, The Smart Meeting is scheduled for March 14–16 at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas; June 5–8 in Park City, Utah; and September 19–21 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
