EIs Revised CourseLine® Offers Expanded Features,
Easier Navigation for Online Learning
.
Orlando, Florida, November 2009The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) has revised and updated its CourseLine® e-learning platform, enabling hospitality companies and schools to offer a variety of training opportunities for employees and students, managed through one integrated system hosted by EI. Online offerings include many of EIs popular hospitality education and training programs, including more than 30 hospitality management courses, the Supervisory Skill Builders program, Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively (CARE®) responsible alcohol service seminar, line-level skills training for key positions, and training videos with quizzes. Courses feature interactive content including video, key terms, web links, case studies, and exhibits. Course material is organized by competencies, while review quizzes and exams reinforce the material covered by each competency. Participants can earn course completion certificates by successfully passing online exams. The new learning management system (LMS) that EI is using for CourseLine® allows facilitators to create learning plans, track student progress, manage class activities, lead discussion groups, and generate reports. Facilitators can create and send surveys to participants and manage activities and events through the systems online calendar. CourseLine® can be used by schools, hotel properties, management companies, corporate hotel operations, or by individuals desiring to enhance their hospitality knowledge through online distance learning.
