Malia Osterbauer Named the General Manager of The Portofino Hotel
& Yacht Club in Redondo Beach, California

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (December 10, 2009) – Malia Osterbauer has been named the new general manager of The Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club, a waterfront property in Redondo Beach owned and operated by Noble House Hotels & Resorts. 
According to Jake Donoghue, chief executive officer of Noble House Hotels & Resorts, in her new position, Osterbauer will supervise 170 employees, running day-to-day operations for the property, which includes the 161-room hotel; BALEENlosangeles, a stand-alone restaurant; a 181-slip marina and 19 residential apartments. Conveniently located near Los Angeles and Orange County area’s top attractions, The Portofino Hotel recently underwent an extensive $11 million renovation of its guestrooms, public and meeting spaces, restaurant and marina. 

“Malia has expertise in all facets of the hospitality industry, and we are very pleased to have her join our team and take Portofino to an even higher level of excellence,” Donoghue said.
With more than 15 years of experience in the hotel arena, Osterbauer was most recently director of resort operations/assistant general manager for the Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa, a 357- room, full-service property on 18 acres fronting San Diego’s Mission Bay. She worked her way up the ranks over seven years at this resort, serving as director of rooms, director of guest relations, assistant director of front office, and rooms executive.
As assistant general manager, she helped oversee Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa’s extensive $26 million renovation and directed all operations for the property, including rooms; food and beverage; spa, salon, tennis and fitness facilities; recreation; security; business center and beachfront activities.
Prior to her last position, Osterbauer worked as an asset/property manager, overseeing large-scale apartment communities for Arnel Management Company headquartered in Costa Mesa, Calif.  Additionally, she worked as director of revenue management for the Ontario Airport Hilton in Ontario and as reservations manager for Sheraton Suites Fairplex Hotel in Pomona.
