Xanterra Assumes Management of the Deer Creek State Park

and Conference Center in Mount Sterling, Ohio
Mount Sterling, Ohio, December 30, 2009 � National and state park concessioner Xanterra Parks & Resorts will assume management of the Deer Creek State Park Lodge and Conference Center on Feb. 1, 2010. The lodge will reopen for business on Feb. 26, 2010. The company has begun accepting reservations for lodge rooms after that date. Xanterra operates seven other Ohio state park lodges, including Punderson Manor, Mohican, Salt Fork, Hueston Woods, Shawnee, Maumee Bay and Burr Oak. Deer Creek State Park Lodge is located in Mt. Sterling, Ohio, (22300 State Park Road 20) approximately 30 minutes from Columbus. The lodge features 110 guest rooms with private balconies or patios; 25 two-bedroom cottages; the one-of-a-kind Harding Cabin and Rafter�s Restaurant. Park recreational offerings include an 18-hole championship golf course; nine-hole miniature golf course; marina with boat rentals; basketball, tennis and sand volleyball courts; baseball field; group fire pit areas; indoor and outdoor pools; hot tub and sauna; new fitness center; hiking trails; boating and fishing in an unlimited horsepower lake; game room; gift shop; guest laundry; high-speed Internet access; sand beach; children�s playground and supervised children�s activities during the summer; wide-ranging winter activities; horseshoe pits and shuffleboard court. The Deer Creek Conference Center offers 12,000 square feet of meeting
space accommodating groups of up to 450 people. The lodge�s 11 meeting
rooms can be divided into a variety of configurations, and the spacious
lobby can be designated for displays, receptions and special events. All
meeting rooms feature wireless high-speed Internet access. The lodge also
features a business center with computer, printer, telephone and Internet
access.
