Home2 Suites Reveals Details Behind Iconic Working Wall
In Suites; Includes a Full Kitchenette
.
Memphis, Tenn. September 2, 2009 Home2 Suites by Hilton, a mid-tier, extended-stay hotel concept targeting the savvy, value-wise guest, continues to fine-tune design details of the innovative brand including the iconic Working Wall. The working wall spans the length of an entire wall within the guest suite and is a collection of functional spaces that create specific zones within the room while maximizing space. The design uses a modular system that helps to create three distinct work zones: kitchen, living/work and bedroom. It achieves this while still providing plenty of storage, a smart kitchen and an entertainment center which showcases a 42 flat-screen television. The working wall is a great example of how Home2 Suites is breaking out of the me too sameness found in design and furniture with traditional hotel products in the market, said Bill Duncan, Global Head, Brand Management, at Home2 Suites by Hilton. Because this unique design really speaks to our current and prospective developers, they recognize how the brand differentiates them from the competition and will provide several added benefits for their guests. The working wall supports all of the following functions:
On average, Home2 Suites will be comprised of 90 percent studios and 10 percent one-bedroom suites, at 323 and 509 square feet, respectively. Public space will account for approximately 4,200 square feet. Home2 Suites forecasts 100 properties open by year-end 2012, with 60 to 70 per year thereafter. Immediate focus will be on U.S. development, with expansion into Canada, Mexico and abroad in subsequent years.
