William J. Sander III Named General Manager of
The Seagate Hotel & Spa in Delray Beach, Florida

September 16, 2009 (Delray Beach, Florida) � The Seagate Hospitality Group announces the appointment of William J. Sander III as General Manager of The Seagate Hotel & Spa in Delray Beach, Florida, set to open in November 2009. Bringing close to two decades of experience at refined and upscale hotel addresses, including nine years managing XV Beacon in Boston, Sander is responsible for all operations, sales and marketing, and on-property management for the 162-room Seagate Hotel & Spa, including the 8,000 square-foot Seagate Spa and the signature restaurant, Atlantic Grille. �William brings remarkable talent and enviable experience at the highest level of luxury hospitality to The Seagate Hotel & Spa and we�re fortunate to have him at the helm,� said Helmut Rueckert, President of Seagate Hospitality Group. �The confidence and record of success that William brings is invaluable to launching this new hotel.� Prior to joining The Seagate Hotel & Spa, Sander was General Manager of the award-winning XV Beacon Hotel in Boston from 1999 through 2009. During his tenure, XV Beacon was repeatedly honored by the nation�s top travel publications, including being named as the #1 Hotel in Boston by Travel + Leisure; one of the �Top 100 Best Hotels in the World� by Travel + Leisure; and one of the �Top 100 Best Hotels in the World� by Condé Nast Traveler. The hotel was also honored �Best Boutique Hotel in the World� by Robb Report after only being open one year. Previously, Sander served as director of room operations at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and as director of food and beverage at the Boston Harbor Hotel, where he hosted and operated the Boston Wine Festival, one of the country�s premier vini-cultural events. He maintains a passion for wine, and holds a spot on the board of Diderot, a North Carolina-based wine marketing company. During Sander�s time at XV Beacon, the hotel�s then-restaurant, The Federalist, was awarded Wine Spectator�s �Grand Award for Excellence� each year beginning in 2001. Wine lists created by Mr. Sander for Rosewood�s Hotel Crescent Court and The Claremont were also honored with Wine Spectator�s �Best Award of Excellence.� Sander�s other executive credentials include service at luxury properties such as The Houstonian, Houston, Texas; Rosewood�s Hotel Crescent Court, Dallas, Texas; and The Claremont Resort & Spa, Oakland, California. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Sander studied for a career in hospitality at Connecticut�s Manchester Community College and furthered his education at the University of Hartford. He is an avid Corvette collector, owning four Corvettes, including a silver �67 and burgundy �74 (both historic cars), as well as a blue and white �86 GT1 race car and a black �09. He also maintains a life-long allegiance to the New York Yankees, despite his time in Boston and new address in Florida. Sander now resides in the picturesque seaside town of Delray Beach, Florida, with his wife Louanne.
