News for the Hospitality Executive
US Hotels Appoints Paul Hanley Chief Executive Officer;
Will Oversee its
Portfolio of Seven Hotels and New Development Beyond
New York, NY, August 19, 2009 – US Hotels has announced the appointment of Paul Hanley as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment marks the launch of a major strategic growth phase for US Hotels, which currently owns and operates a collection of seven hotels, restaurants and conference facilities in New England, including the White Barn Inn & Spa and The Breakwater Inn & Spa in Kennebunkport, and Windham Hill Inn in West Townshend, Vermont.
Drawing upon extensive hospitality management expertise earned at major domestic and international hotel groups, Hanley will oversee the continued development of US Hotels throughout New England while leading the company’s investment and business implementation strategy for the Americas as a whole.
“US Hotels is highly acquisitive, but we are also keen to expand by providing management services where appropriate - adding value through our proven expertise and possibly even providing fully branded solutions to formerly stand-alone properties,” noted Hanley. “It’s an exciting time to be joining US Hotels, and I look forward to elevating the presence of the group throughout the Americas, drawing upon both my own experience and the international hospitality interests of our parent company, the Libra Group.”
Hanley brings more than 30 years of hospitality experience to his new role at US Hotels, almost all of it in management. Immediately prior to his appointment, Hanley was head of The Paul Hanley Company, a hospitality management consultancy he founded in 2004. He was formerly President and COO of Regent International Hotels. Hanley also held an array of senior management and property-specific positions at hotel groups including Radisson Hotels International, Omni Hotels, Ramada Worldwide and Hyatt Hotels and Resorts.
Having established itself with a cohesive collection of well-managed, reputable properties, US Hotels now intends to expand into a geographically diverse group across the Americas, from the Caribbean to Canada. The company brings impressive pedigree to its expansion plans, including the ownership and management of internationally renowned hotels – most notably The White Barn Inn, a Relais & Châteaux property that enjoys the highest possible rankings from independent observers including Mobil Travel Guide and AAA.
