Aimbridge Hospitality Expands Portfolio with
Two New Management Contracts
Aimbridge continues aggressive
growth despite troubled economy
CARROLLTON, TEXAS — AUGUST 04, 2009 — Aimbridge Hospitality, one of the nation’s leading independent hotel investment and management firms, today announced it now manages both the Hampton Inn Columbia (South Carolina) Northeast and the Hampton Inn & Suites Charlotte/Arrowood in North Carolina. This brings Aimbridge’s current management portfolio to 52 hotels with another five hotels scheduled to open by the end of the year.
“The current economy has caused hotel owners and investors to realize the importance of having an operator with proven ability to deliver results during challenging down cycles,” said Dave Johnson, Aimbridge’s president and chief executive officer. “We operate each of our hotels from an ownership perspective, meaning all disciplines are focused on increasing not only revenue, but incremental profit as well.
Johnson continues, “Currently, we are very proud that our entire portfolio of 52 hotels are collectively gaining market share year over year. Plus our flow through has been remarkable.”
The 111-room Hampton Inn Columbia Northeast, located at 1551 Barbara Dr., recently completed an extensive $3 million renovation to its guestrooms, public spaces and pool. The hotel is within close proximity of the University of South Carolina. It sits among a myriad of restaurant and retail outlets.
The 100-room Hampton Inn & Suites Charlotte/Arrowood, which features 34 suites, is located at 9110 Southern Pines Blvd., and also received a complete renovation to its guestrooms and public areas last year. The hotel is nestled within an area populated by several large business parks and is in close proximity to world-class golfing, parks and outdoor activities.
“Aimbridge understands and is recognized for our expertise in leveraging regional travel patterns and marketing of group business along with the direct sales approach of local business,” said Tom Kenney, Aimbridge Hospitality Senior Vice President of Sales. “Our immediate goal is to re-introduce each property to their respective markets and implement aggressive revenue and profit strategies. With this approach, we are confident that both of these assets will quickly become leaders in their respective markets, while delivering maximum returns to the owners.”
Aimbridge Hospitality presently owns or operates 52 branded and independent hotels in 17 states, with another five properties currently under construction. Aimbridge’s core competencies, size and distribution give it significant economies of scale and its diverse investment platform gives it great flexibility to execute complex opportunities. Aimbridge seeks opportunities where it can create and enhance value through implementation of market positioning and capitalization plans. This strategy along with strong property management has greatly contributed to its success.
