Park Plaza Hotels Launch New Website
 for Lifestyle Brand, art’otel

Amsterdam - 11 May 2009 - European Hotel Group Park Plaza Hotels announce the launch of a
new website for their art and lifestyle brand, art’otel, with the strap-line ‘original art, unique hotels’.

art’otel fuses contemporary art with striking architecture to create a unique hotel experience for design savvy enthusiasts who enjoy the combination of art and travel. Each hotel displays acollection of original works from a single artist, consisting of either paintings, sculptures and photographs designed or acquired specifically for each art’otel, rendering each a unique art gallery in their own right.

With artworks adorning the hotel lobbies, hallways, galleries, public spaces and guest rooms, guests can literally sleep under an original canvas and immerse themselves in a world so close to their hearts. Such is the profile of art’otel guests; the website has been designed with the artist at the forefront, allowing guests to make their hotel selection based on their artist of choice as well as their city of interest.
 
Dynamic content includes photo galleries, virtual tours, resident artist biographies and new brand developments such as those planned in Cologne (winter 2009), Marrakech (2009), Amsterdam (2010) and London (2012) to join the six existing hotels located in the cultural hotspots of Berlin, Potsdam, Dresden and Budapest.



Since taking full ownership of the art’otel brand in 2007, Park Plaza Hotels has invested heavily in renovations of two properties in Berlin – art’otel berlin mitte and art’otel berlin kudamm - introduced a new food pick&mix concept, create, and partnered with the ESMOD International Design School for students to design new employee uniforms. Hotel employees are trained to give guided tours of the artwork to guests during their stay and packages designed specifically with artistic elements such as gallery or exhibition entries will be available to book online shortly. Additional developments to the website will include multiple language options, supplementary art features and imagery and guest interaction.

artotels.com was designed by London based digital agency, Harvest, whose clients include Natwest, Auto Trader and 3M. Development and integration of the site was managed through Carlson Hotels Worldwide, the global award-winning hotel and distribution giant whose web platform is utilised by the entire Park Plaza Hotels network. Integration into Carlson’s platform allows guests easy navigation, access to real-time availability and sign up to their award-winning guest loyalty programme goldpointsplus.com.
