The Dow Hotel Company Names Joseph G. Coursolle, General Manager
of Hilton San Antonio Hill Country Hotel and Spa

Hotel Undergoing $6 Million Renovation

SEATTLE, May 6, 2009—The Dow Hotel Company, LLC, (DHC) a hotel ownership, investment and management company, today announced that Joseph G. Coursolle, CHA, has been named general manager of the 227-room Hilton San Antonio Hill Country Hotel and Spa.  He will report directly to Steven Falciani, regional vice president of operations.  The hotel is owned by a joint venture between New Jersey-based Prudential Real Estate Investors and DHC, which also manages the property.

The hotel converted to the Hilton hotel brand at the beginning of 2009 and is undergoing a $6 million renovation, which is being conducted in phases in order to eliminate guest disruptions.

“Joe brings with him nearly three decades of hospitality industry experience, as well as a working knowledge of the San Antonio area,” said Murray Dow, president of The Dow Hotel Company.  “In addition to experience as a general manager, he also has extensive experience with the Hilton Brand. We expect his expertise and skillset to enhance an already successful resort-style property, and that his operating experience in a variety of economic climates will benefit the hotel.”

Previously, Coursolle was general manager at the Embassy Suites Hotel Indianapolis in downtown Indianapolis.  During the course of his career, he has served as general manager of four different properties, including the Embassy Suites Austin–North and two other hotels in San Antonio.  He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn.

“The renovation now under way will improve guest amenities and create additional upscale hotel and spa services,” said Steven Falciani.  “We offer diversified spa treatment options that include body detoxification treatments; expanded healthy dining options at the onsite restaurant, SunSpot; and introduced Hilton Fitness by PreCor® fitness center, with free weights and cardio stations with personal TV screens.  Judging from the success of four other Hilton Family-branded properties we manage, we expect the Hilton San Antonio Hill Country Hotel and Spa will become one of the region’s market leaders for years to come.

Located at 9800 Westover Blvd., the property is just minutes from downtown San Antonio, Riverwalk and the Alamo and less than one mile from Sea World San Antonio.  The five-story Hilton San Antonio Hill Country Hotel and Spa amenities include 16,500 square feet of versatile meeting space, three pools, the Hill Country Spa, its signature restaurant Sun Spot and all-day dining in the Hill Country Bar, which serves traditional American and Texas cuisine.
