 (RICHMOND, VA – 05/05/09) McKibbon Hotel Management,
Inc. is pleased to announce that General Manager Jonathan Brashier has been
honored by Marriott International as the 2008 SpringHill Suites Opening Hotel General Manager
of the Year.
A
graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College in South Carolina, Jonathan began his career
with McKibbon Hotel Management in 2000. During his
tenure, he has served as General Manager for Marriott properties in Greenville, South Carolina and Macon, Georgia.
In
December 2008, Brashier was honored to be selected as the opening
General Manager for SpringHill Suites
Richmond Northwest, McKibbon’s
northernmost property, and the only property in the company portfolio
located in Virginia. With not
much time to get through his pre-opening checklist, Jonathan quickly
surrounded himself with a fantastic opening team, and immersed himself
in the construction project, working closely with contractors and
vendors to ensure that the hotel would meet its opening date.
On March 21, 2008, the 103-suite property
opened off of Interstate 64 and Gaskins Road, on time and with no
attachments, meaning it passed Marriott’s opening team inspection with
no corrections to be made. Within the property’s
first full month, it had achieved a 98% Occupancy Index.

in making the opening of this new hotel a success,” explained McKibbon’s President/CEO Vann Herring. “His
attention to detail and enthusiasm kept the entire team on target and
still smiling through all opening deadlines and inspections.

Jonathan with Opening GM of the
Year honors.”
Jonathan
Brashier was honored by Marriott with an expenses-paid trip to New Orleans for the annual general
manager’s conference and received special recognition at an awards
celebration event.
