NextGen travelers insist on
airline flight displays and boarding pass printing
CHICAGO, IL April 1, 2009 – Flyte Systems, the leading provider of airport travel information displays and digital signage content for the hospitality industry, digital signage, convention centers and related businesses, announced the implementation of its FlyteBoard airline flight information display, FlyteChannel guest room TV airline feed, and FlytePass, boarding pass printing kiosks at two properties managed by Noble Investment Group. The properties are the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Airport West and the Hampton Inn and Suites I-285 and Camp Creek. Both properties are directly adjacent to Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport, ranked as the world’s busiest airport in passenger traffic and number of flights. “Over 50 percent of our guests are experienced travelers who come through Atlanta Hartsfield International and they expect us to provide the latest travel services,” said Shannon Woolard, general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Airport West. “Guests line up at the FlyteBoard to check their departure times and print boarding passes at the FlytePass kiosk; they value the convenience of real-time airline flight information because it cuts down on potential challenges at the airport.” The property’s managers also watch the FlyteBoard flight information digital signage monitors to track the number of cancelled flights at the airport because it enables them to prepare for walk-ins and distressed passengers. “Our director of sales also shows meeting planners our FlyteBoard and FlytePass systems when they give property tours because it sets our hotel above the competition to win business,” said Woolard. The Hampton Inn & Suites I-285 near Hartsfield also uses its FlyteBoard and FlytePass services as a competitive selling tool. “We know how important providing real-time airline information is because guests tell us,” said Bridget Freeman, general manager of the Hampton Inn & Suites I-285 and Camp Creek Parkway. “Since we are the only Hampton Inn near the airport with this service, we promote it as a selling point. We placed the flight information board above our coffee station in the lobby, so guests can check flights first thing in the morning to help them prepare their day.” Both hotels utilized technology consulting services from NTI Consultants
to implement their audio/video and other electronic services. “We
work with many hotels and recommended Flyte Systems’ digital airline information
displays as a potentially valuable option when we were installing other
guest technology systems,” said Jerry Strauss with NTI Consultants.
Real-time Flight Information What sets Flyte Systems apart from PC-based applications is the ability to post accurate, real-time airline flight arrival and departure information, not FAA-regulated scheduled departure times that do not list delays caused by air traffic control, aircraft maintenance, crew availability and weather. Flyte Systems offers a suite of products that serve the traveling public: FlyteBoard, FlytePass, FlyteChannel and FlyteTouch.
