Vann Herring Promoted to to Chief Executive Officer
and
President of of McKibbon Hotel Management
.
 (TAMPA,
FL– March 5, 2009 ) McKibbon Hotel Management, Inc., based in Tampa,
Florida,
is pleased to announce the promotion of President Vann Herring to Chief
Executive Officer and President of the company, effective
immediately.
In his new role, Vann will continue to oversee day-to-day operations,
with
the expanded responsibility of guiding long-range planning and
strategic
direction for the company.
Herring joined the company in 1990 as Director of Operations, and was promoted to President in 1996. His vast range of experience in the hospitality industry includes roles as Director of Operations at Edmundson Hotel Management Company and Senior Vice President for United Inns, Inc. A graduate of the University of Alabama, Vann Herring holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He is a past president of Marriott’s TownePlace Suites Franchise Council, and currently serves on Hilton’s Homewood Suites Franchise Council. “With nearly 20 years as a dedicated member of this corporate family, I am honored to have the opportunity to continue the great sense of tradition and success that McKibbon has been known for over eighty-plus years,” Herring explained. “These are challenging times for our industry, and I am ready to provide the guidance required to keep our company strong, through sound financial decisions, caring for our associates and treating our guests to positive and memorable service experiences.” John McKibbon, former CEO, will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
