The Westin New York at Times Square Names Mary Beth O’Connor
Director of Sales and Marketing and Jim Mooney Director of Sales
NEW YORK – January 21, 2009 – The Westin New York at Times Square is pleased to announce two new executives leading the sales team: Mary Beth O’Connor, director of sales and marketing, and Jim Mooney, director of sales. Both O’Connor and Mooney join The Westin New York at Times Square at an exciting time, as the hotel is ahead of schedule and nearing completion of the final phase of a $20-million refreshment program. The timing for these refurbishments is also ahead of schedule, by industry standards, as the hotel has only been open for six years.
O’Connor brings extensive New York City know-how to the 863-room hotel, after over two decades at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers. She spent the last four years in the role of director of sales. She holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and French language from Manhattanville College and was awarded her Masters of Business Administration in marketing from Pace University.
Like O’Connor, Mooney has spent most of his career in the Big Apple, having held sales positions in Manhattan for 10 years. He joins the Westin New York at Times Square from the Millennium Broadway Hotel, where he was also director of sales. No stranger to Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the management company for The Westin New York at Times Square, Mooney held various positions within the Starwood family in New York City and Baltimore for nearly 13 years. Mooney received his Global Leadership certificate from the National Business Travel Foundation and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Salisbury University in Maryland.
