BEDFORD, PA (February 19, 2009) -- Omni Hotels has appointed Richard A. Brooks as director of sales and marketing of the Omni Bedford Springs Resort. The historic, circa-1796 resort re-opened in 2007 after a $120-million renovation and expansion and became part of Omni Hotels luxury portfolio on January 1, 2009. Located within a short drive from Washington, D.C. and Pittsburgh, Penn., the resort sits on 2200 acres in the Allegheny foothills of south central Pennsylvania and has played host to 11 U.S. presidents. It was once considered the Summer White House of James Buchanan.

Prior to joining Omni Hotel, Brooks served as director of sales and marketing at The Umstead Hotel & Spa, a 150-room luxury property in Cary, N.C. Brooks was responsible for all sales and marketing operations from pre-opening in January 2006 to October 2008. Brooks hospitality career also includes marketing and sales positions for Hilton, Westin and Walt Disney World Resorts. He graduated from Elon University with a degree in marketing

Richard is an inspiring leader who will bring a new level of marketing expertise and focus to the resorts executive team, said Scott Stuckey, general manager of Omni Bedford Springs Resort.  Richards appointment exemplifies our commitment to deliver memorable experiences for guests.
