EMCVenues� Neil Pompan Elected President of the International
Association of Conference Centers Global Board of Directors

Brielle, New Jersey, February 2009� Neil Pompan, CMP, vice president of EMCVenues and conference industry veteran, has assumed leadership of the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) Global Board of Directors as its elected President. IACC Global is the umbrella organization, which provides unity to conference center chapters spanning five continents.  IACC is the leading professional organization governing the multi-billion dollar conference center industry globally and the recognized authority on the critical elements of the Total Meeting Experience.  Jody Wallace, President and CEO of EMCVenues, made the announcement.

�Neil�s industry knowledge and skill-set make him the ideal candidate for this important leadership position,� said Ms. Wallace.  �He brings to his new role vast experience having worked at nearly every level within the industry, including serving as IACC North America President.  We wish Neil well in his new responsibilities.�

In addition to these new responsibilities, Neil Pompan serves as vice president consulting solutions for EMCVenues, the global meetings resource company specializing in education events, supplier tradeshows, training workshops, and online registration support.  Mr. Pompan has held this position since November 2005.

Previous to his joining EMCVenues, Neil Pompan was vice president for JPMorgan Chase.  In this role he served as CFO of the Meetings & Events division of the company, encompassing meeting planning, management of 12 conference centers, technology delivery within the domestic United States, and global support of the firm�s space management system.  

Mr. Pompan has also worked in a variety of executive level positions for such companies as MeriStar Hotels and Resorts, Inc., Benchmark Hospitality International, Scanticon International, Omni Hotels, the Smithsonian Institution, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and Conference, Inc.
  
Earlier in his career, Mr. Pompan worked for full service urban-based hotels, resort hotels, for institutional food service providers, as well as non-profit organizations. He has also opened three non-residential corporate conference centers.  When on staff with Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading hospitality management company and charter member of IACC, Mr. Pompan served as national conference services liaison and staff support to all Benchmark-managed properties across the company�s portfolio.
 
Neil Pompan has extensive experience working with the IACC organization over a 15-year period.  He has served on several of the association�s committees, including Professional Development, Annual Conference Planning, Site-Selection, Finance, Membership Development and University Relations. In 2001, Mr. Pompan received the IACC Award of Excellence, and in 2004 he was given the IACC Pyramid Award.  He was elected to the association�s North American Board of Directors in 1999 and served as its President for the past two years.

In addition to his IACC activities, Mr. Pompan has served on the Convention Industry Council�s CMP Board of Directors and chaired its Exam Review and Development committee.  He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration.  Mr. Pompan and his family reside in Easton, Pennsylvania.
