As the Owners/Operators of Stillwater Hospitality, LLC, Mr. and Mrs. Martin have established themselves as leaders and visionaries in hospitality to the students and community in Stillwater.  The Director of the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration, Dr. Richard F. Ghiselli exclaims, “The consummate service and professionalism they exhibit to our students and the industry as a whole make them exceptional industry alliances for our department.  This recognition is an outstanding way for us to recognize their contributions to hospitality educational excellence.”
This recognition was bestowed on Mr. and Mrs. Martin at the 2009 HRAD Hospitality Days Career Fair and Conference on Monday February 16, 2009.  Joe Martin is the 2009 Chairman of the Board for AH&LA and has served on the board in various forms for the past seven years.  Likewise, Mr. Martin has been a member of the School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration’s Advisory Board at Oklahoma State for a number of years.  Mr. and Mrs. Martin have also been hoteliers in the local Stillwater market since 2001, uniquely part of the Stillwater community as former students and current entrepreneurs.  “Joe and Pam are both alumni of Oklahoma State University which makes this recognition even more personal and rewarding for our program,” states Ghiselli.
The theme for this year’s event was “Serving the world for a greener tomorrow”, with its programs and production elements focused on sustainability awareness and “practical” energy efficient practices for the hospitality industry.  Student Chairs of this year’s event were Nick Miller and Anna Boyles.  “Go Pokes!”
