Lansing, Michigan, February 2009 � The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) recent unveiled the second edition of �Hotel Asset Management: Principles and Practices� at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS). The book, edited by Greg Denton, MAI; Lori E. Raleigh; and A. J. Singh, Ph.D., features articles by 29 of the industry�s leading hotel asset management professionals. A number of industry trends and issues have changed the context of hotel ownership and operations during the past five years, making the timing right for an update to this informative hotel asset management book. The purpose of the book is to help practicing asset manager advance their knowledge of the profession by providing them with the latest thinking on topics relevant to asset management in the hospitality industry. The second edition takes a look at the challenges and opportunities hotel owners, lodging industry real estate professionals, and hotel company executives face today. Chapters in the second edition address a cross-section of hotel asset management topics and are divided into three segments:
