Michael Wilganowski Appointed Executive Chef at
The Osprey at Beaver Creek, A RockResort
.

Beaver Creek, CO October 1, 2008 Michael Wilganowski, an 11-year culinary industry veteran, has been appointed executive chef at The Osprey at Beaver Creek, A RockResort, scheduled to open in December 2008. Chef Wilganowski will oversee all dining operations at the 45-room boutique hotel, including the tapas style Osprey Bar.

Chef Wilganowski joins The Osprey from Beaver Creeks private mountain retreat Trappers Cabin where he oversees food and beverage offerings as executive chef. He will continue in this role and will expand his influence in his new position at The Osprey.

We are thrilled to welcome Michael to our culinary leadership team, so he can showcase his expertise and creativity to develop an exceptional dining experience for our guests, said The Ospreys General Manager Russ Craney. The Osprey Bar is on track to become Beaver Creeks hot spot with a social and stylish atmosphere, innovative cuisine and superior service.

Previously, Chef Wilganowski was executive chef of Perrys Grill and Steakhouse in Houston, TX, where he fine-tuned his expertise in classic American cuisine with a Mediterranean flare. He also held tenures at Vail Cascade Resort & Spa, CO, and The Houstonian Hotel, TX. Chef Wilganowski began his career at Houstons Café Annie, spending over four years cooking under the guidance of celebrated Southwest chef Robert Del Grande. Chef Wilganowski was born into a first generation Polish farming family, and his culinary passion developed on his grandparents farm where he helped his grandmother with cooking, canning and making sausage.

The Osprey Bar will offer a tapas style menu and a sophisticated urban dining experience served in a world-class mountain setting. Wilganowskis vision for the seasonal menu is to create a global fusion concept that incorporates multi-cultural cuisine and techniques. Dishes will utilize ingredients that are sustainable, often organic and locally grown. The restaurant will be located in the lobby area and complimented by a hand-selected wine list.

Located in the heart of Beaver Creek village, The Osprey at Beaver Creek, A RockResort, (formerly known as The Inn at Beaver Creek) is undergoing a $7 million dollar transformation. When the hotel is unveiled in December, it will feature 45 guest rooms, outdoor pool with poolside bar, hot tub, fitness center with steam room and sauna, ski valet and storage, and personal concierge services. The Ospreys sophisticated design will incorporate warm colors and richly textured surfaces (such as leather, birch, iron, and onyx) made from locally sourced stone, indigenous metals and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified wood.
