Jonathan Crook Named General Manager
of The Peninsula Manila
HONG KONG, Oct. 31, 2008 - The Hongkong and Shanghai
Hotels, Limited (HSH) has announced the promotion of Mr. Jonathan Crook
to be General Manager of The Peninsula Manila, effective 3 November 2008.
A UK native with US citizenship, Jonathan Crook had lived in Portugal, Zambia, Montserrat and Egypt during his formative years. He attended the Gloucestershire University in Cheltenham, United Kingdom where he received a Higher National Diploma in Hotel Management. Following his graduation, Mr. Crook worked at The Sonnenalp Resort in Vail, Colorado, USA; the Millenium Gloucester Hotel, London; and The Dorchester, London where he held the position of Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. In 2000, Mr. Crook joined The Peninsula New York as Assistant Food and Beverage Manager and a year later, he was transferred to The Peninsula Chicago as Assistant Food and Beverage Director. He was promoted to Director of Food and Beverage in 2003. In 2005, he relocated to Asia, where he first took up the role of Resident Manager at The Peninsula Beijing, before moving onto The Peninsula Tokyo in February 2008 as Hotel Manager, tasked with the hotel's overall management. Mr. Jonathan Crook takes over from Mr. Vlad Reyes as General Manager of The Peninsula Manila. About HSH The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited was incorporated in 1866.
