Names Four to Executive Positions
.

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. - November 4, 2008 - The Westin Beach Resort, Fort Lauderdale is excited to announce the appointment of four new positions:
  • Joanie Bowden as the Director of Spa, 
  • Adam Elmrabti as the Director of Food and Beverage, 
  • Nyki Tevini as Group Sales Manager and 
  • Tina Smith, as Sales Account Director. 
Each was chosen for the position based on a wealth of experience that benefits The Westin Beach Resort, Fort Lauderdale, formally the Sheraton Yankee Trader Hotel - a past icon in the city - set to open in early 2009.

"The Westin Beach Resort, Fort Lauderdale will bring a new level of luxury to the Fort Lauderdale area and our recent developments pave the way for guests to experience the best that this destination has to offer including a deluxe spa, ocean views and the Westin brand."
 
With more than 10 years in the industry, Joanie Bowden joins The Westin Beach Resort, Fort Lauderdale team from the Spa St. Regis at the St. Regis Resort in Fort Lauderdale where she directed the opening and day-to-day operations. Prior to that position, she was the opening Director of Spa for The Atlantic Hotel and Assistant Director of Spa for the Diplomat Country Club. Ms. Bowden will oversee the opening and operations of the Heavenly Spa at the resort.
 
Adam Elmrabti brings more than 12 years of experience in food and beverage leadership positions including his most recent as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels. Mr. Elmrabti has extensive experience themeing and opening restaurants, as well as in large banquet operations. At The Westin Beach Resort, Fort Lauderdale and the Sheraton Yankee Clipper Hotel, Mr. Elmrabti oversees dining initiatives as the Complex Director of Food and Beverage.
 
With past experience ranging from the Hyatt Regency, Coral Gables and Fairmont Turnberry Isle, Nyki Tevini joins The Westin Beach Resort, Fort Lauderdale and Sheraton Yankee Clipper Hotel as complex sales manager. Ms. Tevini will focus on generating group business from the Mid-Atlantic States and the West Coast, as well as the Florida State Association market for the hotels.
 
With more than 14 years of Starwood sales experience, Tina Smith joins the complex from Starwood's New York Global Sales Office, where she worked for the past nine years. Ms. Smith continues to work with group business in the key markets of Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey, where she is based to better serve group customers.
