. Started with the Vagabond Inn San Diego (Chula Vista) in 1958 |
LOS ANGELES, CA December 4, 2008 - Vagabond Inn commemorated its
50th year of operations in the hospitality industry by hosting an event
on November 20th at its very first hotel, located in Chula Vista, CA.
With a Mexican theme that included a Mariachi Band, Mexican cuisine
and Margaritas, the guest list included corporate staff, Vagabond Inn franchisees
and hotel managers including the owners of the Chula Vista franchise (Savitaben
Patel, Vyomesh Patel, Joy and Ajay Sarolia) as well as members of the San
Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, and tour and travel operators.
The cocktail reception was held on the spacious grounds at the beautifully
landscaped pool area of the hotel, and featured a tour of the recently
renovated guest rooms. The owners were presented with a commemorative
plaque recognizing the hotels historical success.
Starting from the single Chula Vista location back in 1958, new Vagabond
Inns were built and opened, first in other parts of San Diego County, then
throughout California and other western states. With locations serving
the major metropolitan areas on the West Coast, the chain sought to expand
and develop locations in other high-demand destinations. With a strong
franchise system in place to facilitate growth, recent additions include
properties in San Francisco and soon-to-come locations in the Monterey
Bay and wine country regions of Northern California.
