Ocean Properties, Ltd. Names Jessica Nixon Catering &
Services Manager for The Samoset Resort
Rockport ME (September 24, 2008) - Ocean Properties, Ltd. has selected Jessica Nixon as Catering & Conference Services Manager for The Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine. She brings experience as a catering administrator for the Ocean Cliff Hotel in Newport RI to her new banquets, weddings and conference responsibilities at the hotels.
In making the announcement, Kara Greer, Director of Sales & Marketing for Ocean Properties' Northern New England hotels noted, "Our hotels have built a distinguished reputation with our clients for excellence in catering and conference capabilities. Jessica's experience in the upscale Newport market and her knowledge of the systems and technology that allow resorts such as ours to provide seamless delivery of service to our guests will help us take our catering and conference services to the next level."
Ms. Nixon brings seven years of experience in conference coordination, customer service and marketing to her new assignment, as well as first-hand experience in high-season visitor demand in Maine resort markets. Before joining IDC, Inc. at their OceanCliff Hotel, she spent fourteen months as marketing assistant with United Natural Foods in Dayville CT where she gained F&B experience, working with 500 products across 9 brands.
She is a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono where she also gained experience at the Margaret Chase Smith Center for Public Policy; and she is currently pursuing a M.S. in Hospitality Administration through Southern New Hampshire University. ###
